What to expect

A one of a kind Banff Springtime photo workshop experience! – during this 2 night (long weekend) photography workshop you will photograph classic Canadian Rockies spring scenery by day, along with the opportunity to capture the milky way arch by night!

Our base in Banff will allow us a central location from which to reach a range of iconic shooting locations that you can put your own twist on with the help of your guide, Nick Fitzhardinge. There will be lots of time to learn about technical settings, light, astrophotography, composition, all in a small group setting with many 1v1 opportunities.

You will have lots of chances to capture unique images of the Canadian Rockies & improve your photography on this multi-day spring photo workshop!

Start/Finish Time

We will meet in the Banff area on location at 2pm on Saturday May 17th for this Banff Springtime photo workshop. We will finish in the Banff area after sunrise at checkout time (11am) on Monday the 19th.

Locations

A mixture of Banff, Icefields Parkway & Abraham Lake locations. We will chase the best opportunities for spectacular photos depending on the localized weather, season, and light angles.

FAQs

Where do we meet for this on the Saturday afternoon?

We will meet at 2pm for an afternoon shoot before going to our sunset location after that. We will also reconfirm this along with the exact location prior to attending.

Where can I get food on this trip?

There will be an opportunity to go to a restaurant for breakfasts and dinners each day. Lunch is a bit more flexible with snacks and water good to have on you to go.

What happens in the case of poor weather?

The Spring in Banff: ‘Chasing the Milky Way Arch’ workshop will go ahead regardless of the weather conditions. Your photographs will look interesting in all types of weather and some of the most creative and unique photos come from the most improbable conditions! Bring weather appropriate clothing.

What level of photographer is this for?

All! We enjoy taking out complete beginners and teaching them all about their equipment and night photography just the same as if we have a more experienced photographer who prefers more location guiding, safety considerations & logistics than photo instruction.
