About the ‘Wildlife’ portfolio
These are some of my chance encounters with wildlife in the Canadian Rockies. All images have been taken of them in their wild natural environments, in a respectful, non-disturbing manner. Now, if only I had been in position to capture the photo of the grizzly bear who was preying on the mountain goat right behind me on one such occasion! I’ll have to take the rare photographs of a family of wolverines I lucked upon in another encounter instead. These moments or sightings are never a goal of mine. They are however one of the absolute highlights of any trip in the mountains for me. Most of the time I enjoy these experiences without the interference of a camera and unconventionally my 200-600mm lens is used mostly for photos of distant landscapes.
