SUMMIT SPLENDOUR
SUMMIT SPLENDOUR
About the ‘Summit Splendour’ portfolio
Gone are the days of the summit beer celebration or the signing of an obscure summit register placed by Rick Collier. These have been replaced by sitting down and spending as much time as is feasible with a camera to my eye when I get up high on any mountainside. I’ve carted the camera gear up to the summit of over 200 mountains in the Canadian Rockies and that’s only counting each mountain once. I’ve ground the rubble in the gully on the ‘Tower of Babel’ over 30 times, serving wine at its top in full dining room attire replete with a tie, shiny shoes and a name tag on 4 of those occasions! Taking photographs in obscure places like at summits was a real driver for me in the beginning of my photographic journey. It still is when I get the opportunity but now I recognize that the obscure comes from within and that unique and fulfilling photographs can be made anywhere. These look great printed on acrylic to appreciate the details in the many textures and layers visible from summit vistas. Click through to the print shop to see pricing and available sizes.
