About the ‘Colour’ portfolio
This gallery includes some of the most interesting displays of colour I have come across in nature. I especially like photographing the pre sunrise colour we get here in the Bow Valley being so close to the Eastern edge of the Rockies. How about the vibrant wildflowers, or those otherworldly glacially fed turquoise lakes, or even nitrogen infused pink aurora seen at more Northern latitudes?!. I’m drawn to all of it, and can appreciate both subtle and bold versions of each. However, images that work well for me from an artistic standpoint often have a sense of coherence through colour harmony as well as careful juxtaposition of colour. That is more important to me than the novelty of a colourful scene or subject itself. These look great printed on metal or acrylic surfaces where colours render vibrant and true.
